Eels v Bulldogs

With a bye last round Parramatta will come into this with fresh legs which will be a big advantage and they will hope that they can continue their recent winning form after their 24-10 win against the Dragons in round 15. With the Eels sitting in 8th place on the ladder they will know every game counts if they are to play finals footy this season, games such as this against teams below them are a must win. Recent season ending injuries to key players are a bit of a concern but they will need to overcome the situation if they are to progress.

Canterbury's loss last week away against the Warriors will certainly not help their cause but they can take a few positives out of the game after putting up a solid effort. The Bulldogs know themselves that any more slip ups and it will be goodbye for another year with them sitting in 14th on the ladder and two wins outside the top eight but they will also know a win here would see them close the gap due their opponents here the Eels sitting in 8th.

Prediction - The Eels have won the last two fixtures between the two clubs and with the bye last week and coming into this off a good performance it may well be worth siding with them in a game that will probably be a low scoring affair.

Tip - Eels Win $1.45

Titans v Dragons

Gold Coast come into this off the back of a much needed victory last week and while the opposition was the lowly Tigers they will not care as with wins comes confidence. The Titans produced a superb second half performance in their 26-14 with Jarryd Hayne scoring two tries to seal the game for a Titans team that needed the points after losing their last four games, this weeks opponents are tougher but the Titans do have home advantage.

The Dragons managed to scrape over the line last week 32-28 against the Knights after trailing 28-10 at half time after a superb second half comeback but the nature of the win while pleasing will not hide the fact that they conceded five tries within a 15 minute period against a team that has struggled all season. The Dragons will need to up their efforts if they are to keep their top four hopes alive as stronger teams would have not allowed them back into the game on last weeks first half performance.

Prediction - Both teams are struggling for form and historically this has been a close game with 10 of the 17 encounters between the two clubs resulting in 6 points or less winning margin, preference is for the Dragons who may well be still on a high after last weeks antics.

Tip - Dragons Win $1.92 - Margin bet 1-12 Dragons @3.0

Broncos v Storm

The Broncos come into this fixture of the back of two hard fought wins and they will be confident they can peg back the ladder leaders after their defeat last round and close the gap at the top to two points. Brisbane have a solid home record this season winning six of their seven games at Suncorp with their only loss coming in round 2 at the hands of the Cowboys 21-10 and they will be hoping their home ground advantage will count for something after suffering a narrow 14-12 loss to the Storm away earlier this season.

Melbourne suffered a 25-24 defeat at the hands of the Roosters last week but played better than expected with four of their stars missing the game due to Origin duties but they will have a full complement of players for this top four clash. With one win already this season against the Broncos the Storm will be hoping to replicate their 48-6 drumming of the Broncos they handed out last season when they visited Suncorp.

Prediction - With both teams sat in the top three this should be a good game for the neutral supporter and while the Broncos have a decent home record the Storm come here with a 7-1 winning away record and they may well just have the edge in a tight affair.

Tip - Storm Win $1.65

Roosters v Sharks

The Roosters pulled off a 25-24 shock comeback last week against a depleted Storm outfit after trailing 20-6 with only 25 minutes to play meaning they will be full of confidence coming into this after winning their last three games, Sydney are still missing key players but they showed grit and determination in last weeks victory. The Rooster are 5-1 this season at home but this game is played on the Central Coast where they have lost their last eight and this may well be worth noting.

Cronulla suffered their second defeat in three games last week when they went down to the Sea Eagles 35-18 and saw themselves slip outside of the top four so they will be hoping to get back on track here against another team mounting a challenge for a top four birth this season. The Sharks have an impressive away record this season winning all six of their games on the road meaning they will come here expecting to put in a good performance and take the two points.

Prediction - This one could well be nip and tuck all the way, the Sharks have won the last five meeting between the two side but preference goes to the Roosters who will be hard to stop if putting in the same effort as last week.

Tip - Roosters Win $1.74 - Margin bet 1-12 Roosters @2.8

Sea Eagles v Warriors

The Sea Eagles kept their 100% away record in tact with an impressive 35-18 victory against the Sharks last week improving their record on the road to 6-0 but their home form is not so impressive with three losses already this season and if they are to mount any serious challenge this yea they will have to improve in front of their home support. With that win the Sea Eagles moved into the top four and they will need to keep winning if they are to stay there, they come into this with four straight wins under their belt and will be looking to make it five on the spin here.

The Warriors kept their season alive by taking the two points last week in a game that was a must win for them against the Bulldogs making it back to back wins in the process. Their home form is sound this season but once again they are struggling on the road winning only once from seven attempts and the Warriors have lost their last eight straight games here in Perth which doesn't bode well, if they are to mount a challenge and push for a top eight spot they will have to start winning on the road.

Prediction - While the Sea Eagles are the home team here the game being played over in Perth will nullify any advantage but with the Warriors so poor on the road it is hard to see past Manly.

Tip - Sea Eagles Win $1.45

Raiders v Cowboys

Canberra suffered their third consecutive loss last week when going down 30-20 at home against the Broncos and they now find themselves four points adrift of the Eels who are sat in 8th on the ladder. The Raiders need to get back to winning ways if they are to mount a challenge and another loss here may well see their season in tatters, they do go into this with a positive 4-3 home record and they usually do the business here against the Cowboys winning three from four so they will take some confidence from that.

The Cowboys missing their talisman Thurston came from behind late on last week to take the points in a hard fought 14-12 victory at home against the Panthers keeping them in 7th place on the ladder. That win improves the Cowboys recent form to three wins from their last four with only a one point loss away to the Storm in between in round 15. The injury to Thurston will be a big blow for the Cowboys for the rest of the season but they have a strong squad and they may well prove the doubters wrong with a solid run to the line.

Prediction - Toss of a coin type of match with one team in form while the other one is struggling, although Canberra have the edge in recent meeting here preference is for the Cowboys at decent odds who managed to beat the Raiders by a points back in round 1.

Tip - Cowboys Win $2.5

Knights v Tigers

Newcastle slumped to another defeat last week their 12th of the season but they will be left wondering how they didn't come away with the points after leading the Dragons 28-10 at half time. It was a game of two halves for the Knights who scored five tries in the first half while being kept scoreless in the second as the Dragons mounted their comeback, if they can reproduce last weeks first half efforts against a team also struggling they may well claim only their third win of the season.

Wests suffered their 7th straight defeat last week when beaten soundly at home by the Titans 26-14 and find themselves still rooted to the bottom of the ladder. After going in at half time only two points adrift three quick tries by the Titans put the game to bed and condemned the Tigers to another loss.

Prediction - With both teams struggling there isn't much to go on but the Knights have won two from four this term at home and have won five of the last seven against the Tigers so slight preference is for them to win this basement battle.

Tip - Knights Win $1.81 - Margin bet 1-12 Knights @3.0

Rabbitohs v Panthers

The Rabbitohs come into this off a bye week so they should be feeling and ready for action, their home win in round 15 against the Titans will give them a little confidence going forward after losing all their previous six home fixtures this season. Sitting four points adrift of 8th place they will be well aware that they cannot have any more slip ups and their home form has to improve if they are to feature at the back end of the season.

Penrith let two points slip last week when they conceded a late try against the Cowboys in their 14-12 loss and they now sit two points behind the Eels in 9th place. The Panthers have again been a mixed bag this year following on from last season with some solid performances and some under par efforts and they will know if they are to climb into the top eight they will have to be more consistent in the run to the line.

Prediction - Penrith are only three from five on the road but they can take advantage of Sydney's poor home record and take the spoils here and get back to winning ways.

Tip - Panthers Win $1.65
